To get to Sand Pass head north out of Sutcliffe, Nevada on Rt445 N (Pyramid Lake Road). It then becomes Surpise Valley Road (also known as Smoke Creek Road). About 30 miles out of town you'll spot the abandond building on the right.

Sand Pass is a small collection of abandoned building north of Sutcliffe, Nevada on Surprise Valley Road (also known as Smoke Creek Road). Sand Pass was a maintenance station for a section of the Western Pacific railroad. Now home to a bunch of shot out buildings and some big radio tower (WNTQ264) now owned by Union Pacific.
